TELEMATIK/9000 is a multi-user software package for computers running
UNIX (or compatible operating systems) and it establishes the
connection between the computer and electronic transport medias
used to transmit messages.
The physical connection to the corresponding network will be
established via an additional device being connected a serial
port (RS-232) of the computer. Depending on the transmission
service we offer the perfect hardware device with the matching
software module. With our equipment, it is possible to connect
up to 99 services of any combination of Telex, Teletex or Telefax
service.
The messages are printed by the conventional telex printer or a
printer connected directly to the interface. Teletex and Telefax
messages can only be printed with a quailfied printer.
User guide while composing messages, creating send-jobs and sending control
Message management by user and department
User guide while checking for new messages
user-independent sending of the messages using a background process
programs for integration with other software packages (as UNIPLEX, HPOpenMail or individual user applications)
The background software does all message handling automatically,
incoming messages are received by interfaces and stored on the
harddisk. When using devices capable of providing extensions, messages
may be routed directly to a user being assoiciated with an extension.
The system also allows addressing messages to a specific user by giving
extentions in the message. All other messages will be put into a
pool of messages.
Outgoing messages can be addressed directly by the number or by
giving a nickname which is known in the address-book of the
TELEMATIK/9000. The system maintains all outgoing messages with
a queue and does automatic redialling.
All messages (sent and received) are documented in logs. The logs
are kept system-wide, but can also be looked at user-specific.
